How to change email

Summary of Steps

Below is a series of steps you can follow to make edits to the emails that Moodle will send out to your users.

  1. Go to the Settings > Site administration > Language> Language customization page.
  2. Pick the language to customize from the pull down list.
  3. Click the "Open language pack for editing" button. This may take time to process.
  4. Shift+Click to select all the files on the "Show strings of these components" interface.
  5. Type the string of your desired email in the "String identifier" field. You can refer to the section below for a list of strings
  6. Scroll down and type your new email text into the "Local customisation" field, if this email has been edited before the "Local customisation" field will contain the text currently used and can be edited instead.
  7. Click "Save changes to the language pack" to save all changes you have made.

Email strings

Below is a list of different emails that Moodle may send out to users with the string that identifies it on Moodle. Use these strings as part of step 5 in the Summary of Steps section above

Welcome Email Confirmation
