How to Manage Restrictions
Preface
Before you can use restrict access settings you must ensure the ‘Enable restricted access’ box is enabled. You can do this in Administration > Site administration > Advanced feature
Restricting activity access menu
In the settings menu for each activity there is a Restrict Access section below is a step by step guide for setting up restrictions:
- Locate the activity you want to edit, or go to where you would like to add an activity and create a new activity.
- If editing an existing activity click the 'Edit' gear icon alongside the activity you want to restrict and then choose 'Edit Settings', if your adding a new activity you will be taken to the settings page straight away.
- Scroll down to the ‘Restrict Access’ section and click the ‘Add restriction button’
Types of Restriction
You can restrict access by a variety of conditions which are listed below:
- Date - Restricted from or until a certain date and time.
- Grade - Specify a certain grade be achieved for a course or an activity
- Group - Individuals must be within a particular group (This option is only viewable if enabled)
- Grouping - Individuals must be in a particular grouping (This option is only viewable if enabled)
- User profile - Restrict access based on certain profile criterea (Address, Town, Country etc.)
- Restriction set - Use a variety of conditions together to form one critera
Additional
To set restricted content to be invisible to persons whom do not pass the criteria, select the eye icon next to the restriction set ()
ALL or ANY conditions can be used to further modify your restriction sets to require ALL crtierea to be required, or any one of a list
MUST or MUST NOT criteria can be used to inverse your restriction sets
